precisely

i'm amazed how people fail to miss this obvious point:) the whole point of this movie is to expose the true colors of the American society

much like blacks can call each other "nigga/er"...

I know it's beginning to become some trend (or has been for a while) for this word to be used especially among the black community...

I still don't understand why the word is being used even if it's in good context...

Looking at history and the treatment of black people for instance during the slave trade...that word is still a reminder of the suffering and injustices they had to go through because they were labelled this derogatory term...

Just my two cents...

Personally I think Sascha's aim was to make a satire of common viewpoints and stereotypes (especially American ones) - however I think his work is too frequently misinterpreted and/or taken in a poor manner. I'm personally not a fan of his for the simple reason that I don't feel I gain anything except short term laughs - I might even say watching his show/movie(s) would make me stupid (Don't take that literally).

He is Jewish and as a result his work - at least towards Jews - is viewed as "acceptable" by some. Personally I think that this viewpoint would be ok if you didn't have over 50% of the people who watch his shows/movies not understanding the point and just taking everything in at face value (aka worthless crap).

From what I see, there are way too many kids running around repeating what they saw in the Borat movie or watching Ali G or whatever the case may be without really understanding what Sascha was trying to get at; this, unfortunately, negates the concept in mind and ends up promoting racism (too many kids don't know any better than to really understand what they're saying).

Overall, I don't see Sascha as blatantly racist. I think he's a smart man with - at the very least - a decent idea in mind. That way too many people take it the wrong way is an issue on its own, but there will always be people who will senselessly repeat whatever a movie says.

Could not agree more.

The second last paragraph you wrote, regarding this influx of kids imitating without the most basic understanding of the ideology behind it...completely agree.

In all, I think it takes at least a small amount of effort to understand what he was trying to do with this film. It was grossly misunderstood.

btw, Darouge, plz man check your spelling and grammar, especially in a post where you start a thread. A little effort goes a long way.

Jesus H. Christ. I can't believe that some of you have so clearly missed the point of SBC's humour.

But thanks for your stupidity, it's rather entertaining. :D
