These guys are so amazing that their tiny show last night deserves its own thread even though there won't be many posts in here... shame on you all! :eyespop: :eyes:
Dolby blew it up... he's just one crazy hippieish middle aged man who rocks out... She Blinded Me With Science is just pure ing fun live, probably one of the most fun, hilarious song performances I've ever seen... the rest of his set was just as good and the crowd was there especially for him, just lovin it all, a lot of older (30s-40s) people. He was wearing this little military camera on his head so that when the visual guy switched it over you could see what he was doing on the keyboards and controllers  It was insane! He was havin so much fun, telling stories, laughing, at one point brought one of his daughters on stage and played a song with her... unreal, such a great change of pace and so much fun! I'll let fr0st write what else he played since I'm not too familiar with his music...
^^ pretty much looked like this :p
The visuals were amazing for both acts... BT's visuals guy is especially cool - he's an artist as much as the rest of the band, of course.
BT was just amazing. He played his entire This Binary Universe album with such passion and feeling. Instruments on stage included electric and acoustic guitars and bass, a hurdy-gurdy, a xylophone, and some weird string electronic instrument that looked like BT might have invented it. The song called 1.618 was intensely moving... and I have to admit I had tears in my eyes during Good Morning Kaia, the song he wrote for his baby daughter. The man just plays with such passion, and it was all music that he made and that came from his heart -- it's just so rare to find that these days. He is just in a league of his own in terms of musical mastery, ahead of his time in genre and in composition, and the feeling he puts into his performances -- you can feel the waves of genuine energy coming from him and his band. At the end he played his version of the Donnie Darko theme and an acoustic version of Satellite. Satellite is one of my favorite songs of all time, right behind Mercury and Solace, so I was singing along...
I loved BT's This Binary Universe as soon as I heard it, but seeing it live just cemented it - it's certainly my favorite album of 2006 and up there with my favorite electronic albums of all time, although it's such a blend of genres including a classical twist that it can be appreciated by many. Everyone should give it a listen if you haven't already. :toocool:
