I am going to obtain this player in some time from now:
Cowon A2 Player
I read reviews and it kicks the ipod video and all others to the curb. Anyone else have one so I can get a TA reiview as well or know any better. |

i would HIGHLY disagree...ipod was runnin the table no product was better..especially the Creative Zen, I had tha POS til it froze on me for the 100th time and had to reset it every damn time. ZUNE...MICROSOFT ZUNE IS THE BEST MEDIA PLAYER!!!! |

ipod will always be the best because it was the original mp3 player and has the best features |

| Ipod is just the standard for mp3 players like technics are the standard for turntables and how pioneer cdjs are the standard for cdjs. |

I have an iPod, and for my next portable media player I'm highly considering the Zune, partly just because it isn't an iPod. I'll have to go to the store and play with it a bit before I make any decisions, but from what I hear it is better for video due to the larger screen, and I can't imagine that playing music is much different from the iPod, although I noticed that the Zune store (which I've been playing with the past few days) offers downloads in higher bitrates, which is a big plus for me. The Zune store also seems to offer more in terms of EDM than iTunes.
Anyway, your best bet is to go to your local electronics store and see if you can play with it a bit. |

What exactly are you looking for in an mp3 player? Are you planning to watch video on it? Personally, I find video on an mp3 player to be a gimmick. You think "oh, this will be great, I can watch tv and movies on it." Then you realize, "why the hell am I watching video on a little-ass screen," and then it turns into just an mp3 player with a screen. Some of you might use an mp3 player to actually watch video, but I don't know of anyone that uses it even remotely regularly for that.
So...at least for me, it's all about portability. I want something that at anytime I can pop in the headphones and listen to music. I used an ipod nano for a quite a while, but I just got one of the next generation shuffles, and that thing is awesome. You only get a gig, but I don't want to keep my whole music library on it anyway. I'm never away from my computer for long enough that I can't change tunes when they get stale. Best of all, you can easily slip it and headphones in your pocket, and you literally don't even know it's there.
Yeah, I know it sounds like I'm being an Apple fanboy, but unless you're looking to actually watch videos, or store your entire music collection on it, I think a shuffle is the way to go...besides, it's only like 80 bucks.

hmmm.
I valet park alot so I am in my car chillin. I already have a 7'' Portable DVD player that is perfect and use it alot. The next level is I have many divx movies. Thats where the portable player comes in handy. Has all these codecs and ish. Plus I have tons of mp3s. When I buy a lap top later on obviously the divx + mp3 is taken care of but I don't want to bring a laptop to my valet job. But come to think about it I may steal other peoples internext connections and get a slingo and go from my house Direct tv one day.

In the end seems this cowon kicks the ass of the ipod also in most studies. Battery life and user control over it. |
