hello,

a friend want to buy TT but he doesnt have money to buy technics one,
i think gemini and reloop are bad turntable.

what do you think about numark TTX 1, and stanton T120 ?

The T120.C is ok.

I don't like it cos its all plasticky and doesn't look very nice and it has those stupid pitch bend buttons (which some people like), but actually in use it seems good.

I have its 'proper' brother the ST-150, if your mate can spring for that model rather than a T120 its a quality deck in every way (quality deck = awesome). I think the T120 has the same motor as the ST-150 (don't quote me, i think it has) which means its accurate, tough and reliable.

you can get used technics for fairly cheap on Ebay.

I have a cheap pair of Numark TT1625s. They are direct drive, and though they are part of the cheap Numark DJ in a Box package, they have performed flawlessly for me for one year now. Your mileage may vary, of course. Numark sometimes seems to catch a lot of hell, but in my case I got a decent product for the money. I don't expect them to hold up for 20 years like a pair of Technics would, however, and I knew this when I made my purchase.

stanton's t.120/150 are superior to any technics to this day. no need to argue.

the t.120/150 motor is the same. everything except the casing and a pair of additional features. my t.120's are praised every day and i spit on technics 12xx TTs when i am forced to play on those.

but anyways, the guy made his decision :)
