Same thing he did in Amsterdam.
And more and more I get the feeling he almost played the same set.

But it was supposed to be a 6 hour set, right?

To start off let's just say the turnout last night was amazing. All of Mansion was open and it was packed to the rafters, even the upstairs and stairways were packed and standing-room only. And yes the setup @ Mansion in front of the stage is a joke. But the turnout shows that a lot of people still like trance. If only all these wannabe trance fans would support an event other than Tiesto we would have more trance nights.

As for the music, the opening set by Chicco Secci was actually quite good, as he was dropping nice beats and building up the vibe in the room perfectly IMO. Only complaint, he played until 2 AM, so it was too long as we payed for Tiesto not an opening DJ.

As for Tiesto, I will preface this by saying I am one of Tiesto's biggest fans and defenders, and have seen him everytime he has come to Space (old and new), Ultra, mansion, bang, etc. down here in Miami. I have loved a lot of his sets, but an honest assessment of last night's set is that it was a sub-par performance IMO. His sets @ Bang and Mansion during conference this year blew this set away by a million miles. Last night he played too many proggy and vocal tracks, only throwing in an occasional techy track or two. The first hour and a half or so was all PROG and VOCALS, and even boring at times. The set really did not go anywhere and was poorly structured, and I just kept waiting for him to start dropping his patented full-on tech/hard trance style, but it never really came. It wasn't until the last hour that he brought the energy level up a tad, but nothing out-of-this-world IMO.

Do not get me wrong, the set had some good points, people were dancing and enjoying themselves (including myself), but this was by no means an epic Tiesto set IMO. After seeing PVD destroy Space in November with an incredibly energetic true trance set, I can say Tiesto's set last night paled in comparison.

I went to bang and wasn't overly impressed with his set...not feeling all the prog and house type stuff he has played recently...I mean, I only stayed for like 30 minutes of the set but I walked away.

besides...bang was all about Daft Punk :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop:

then again, I dont think tiesto will ever go back to the good ol days like Magik Vol 6...::sigh::

Excellent review, word for word. That's what I was waitin' for.

Look on the bright side (for all you Tiest0r fans, anyway)

He should "bring it" come WMC, and seeing as he's been rather successful ($ wise anyway), I think he'll be at Mansion for WMC again for sure.

nice pics ;)

if you want to upload 250MB or more you can do it with the tool you have to download from Google Video.
Doesn't matter if you have 500MB, 1GB, 10GB videos.

if you upload via the web with YouTube or with the webtool of Google Video you have a limit.
