| ...one were new to snowboarding, and one didn't know what beginner brands to try out (for jacket/pants/gloves/boots/ect), just some cheap stuff because one has never snowboarded before ever, or even skiied since a young age, where would one start? |

volleyball kneepads ( you're a n00b you're going to fall a lot or hurt your knees ... and your bum too but kneepads don't cover that ), and for the rest get whatever is comfy and not too pricey( in the snow sports section at your local sporting goods store ).
There's no need in looking for ultimate snowboarding gear if you are just starting out as you are utterly clueless about the sport or your long term interest in it.
I think Columbia does stuff that isn't too pricey and is usually pretty good quality.
And use a jacket you already own. |

ha! i was just thinking about this yesterday!!
i hear footsteps of kid nyce.
what about just renting a board each time? or would you save money in the long run just purchasing a beginners? if so- WalMart or Ebay? |
