EDIT: I know Richard Vission has done midnight mixes for a long time now but they were playing him at Rush Hour time! That is why this was so suprising!

I was in the car with my cousin who is an intern at Power 106.

We were listening to Power 106 and I noticed that Power 106 was playing House!

Now they are having a mix marathon were they are just playing "hip-hop" club hits before that. It was pretty cool. They mixed hip-hop and 80s and funk and 90s dance music.

Now here is where I was confused. I think we changed the station for a while and we put it back on and they were playing Axwell's remix of Nelly Furtado-"Promiscuous Girl".

I was thinking why is Power 106 playing House?

And then they played Eric Prydz vs. Pink Floyd -'Proper Education'.

I was like WTF? They just played 2 Swedish House Mafia songs on back to back what is going on!!!

And then all was cleared when the announcer said "now in the mix: Richard 'humpty' Vission"

This was around 5:30PM. It was a pretty good set. It was mostly Vission playing his remixes and his usual sound. The radio jocks called it the "latest undeground music". I am sure there were many suprised hip-hop fans wondering why there was house playing.

The guys at the station and the listeners were super impressed with Vission's set. The radio jocks wanted him to play more often and asked him were he was going to be on NYE.(Avalon!)

It was just super-interesting and fun to hear a full on house set by Richard Vission during rush hour on a hip-hop station!

I've been listening to Power Tools on Power 106 with Richard Humpty Vision since I was a kid! It's nothing new! Lemme guess middle of the night Fri or Sat night?

Humpty used to DJ on Power 106 all the time. Back then Power used to play a lot of House. He had his signature show called THE WEEKEND KICK OFF MIX every Friday @ 5pm. That was a bad ass show. Other DJ's that played house on Power include BAD BOY BILL, ENRIE, and E-Man. Enrie is now back on Movin 93.9 every day at Noon, and his old Power 106 show followed him (The Power Workout).

The only other stations that I know of that play some sort of EDM during regular hours are LATINO 96.3 (during the mixshows), SUPER ESTRELLA (mixshows), KBIG (Mixshows, D:Fuse is a resident on Thump Radio), and MOVIN 93.9 (some on rotation).

my friend was listening to Power all day and said they played "World Hold On" and "Put Your Hands Up For Detroit" 3 times each.

as well as more house and lots of rock mashups courtesy of DJ VICE and DJ ECHO (2 VERY good club dj's by the way)

i'm PISSED i missed it.
