I bought this today. Great work.
I guess it's not electronic music, but it is quite "trance-like."
Any opinions on it? |

You certainly have to be in a particular mood and have a few spare minutes to get into it. But if that is the case then it really is a tremendous piece of music.
Sasha lists it as one of his favourite pieces, and it must surely be one of the most influential classical works in the past 30 years. Check out Different Trains and Electric Counterpoint too. |

Probably my fav. piece out of all Reich's music.
If you liked Music for 18 Musicians, check out "Drumming" too. His ultimate swan song for the phasing technique.
He recently completed a new work, "Daniel Variation" - based on the death of US journalist David Pearl. It sounds pretty amazing from what I've heard so far [just bits and pieces]. Hopefully they'll be a recording release of it soon. |
