Astrology: Your thoughts

So, what do you think of Astrology? Do you believe in it, do you think it's useless, or do you think it plays an interesting role in society?
Personally, I posted my thoughts in another thread (and I thought that moving the conversation here would make much more sense):

| While there are some aspects of Astrology that may be true, I think the whole, "Am I compatible or not?" thing isn't. You're compatible with who you're compatible with, no matter when they were born. |

Sometimes I really want to believe in it. It's really applicable & some of the things are scarily true, but I know deep down that they know whatever they write will apply to some people some of the time.

all well & good, but we're underneath storm clouds for the near future, so unless the met office is lying, these are wrong :p Other bits do seem to make sense though.

| Like I said, I believe in it to a certain extent, but I don't live my life by it. It has it's moments where it's true, but then the next week a different sign will have the same horoscope. |

This applies for the casual crowd. As for the hardcore believers, I think it's just a sort of self fulfilling prophecy. They're unfounded beliefs, but some people believe in them so much that they make them true. |

I find that the Chinese astrology tends to lend itself to me better. I am a Tiger, and I find that many of the characteristics of the tiger are more in tune with me rather than the traditional zodiac signs
Plus, I'd rather be a tiger than a fish :haha: |

| I think astrology/clairvoyants etc may be useful psychological tools. They usually provide sound generalised advice. Or make people think about parts of their personality they need to improve. That's about it though. |

I rate it higher than Scientology or Creationism on the believability scale.
But overall, it is more entertainment than anything believable.
