FREE Hosting for TA's!!!!!

Inspired by DJ Z's offer to give people free hosting ive decided to do the same. I'm doing this so that a lot of the up-and-coming's as well as vets dont have to use ty ad-based hosts with slow uploading times, "waiting periods" and all that bull that acts as a barrier between the end user and the MUSIC (which is above all the most important thing for us DJ's). First rules, then instructions.
Rules
1 Only EDM allowed. I will be checking to make sure there's no pop or crap music, feel free to upload as many mixes or productions as you want as long as they are in mp3 form.
2 If I see anything other than music files such as people's personal videos, pdfs, photoshop files, images, movies, whatever, if it's not music then it gets deleted.
3 I'm doing this as a courtesy to others so if people start to abuse it, then I'll have to stop sharing my webspace and bandwidth. I'm allotting 15GB for the server to start with so please be courteous and try not to hog the space.
4 Because this is an open-account that I have set up everyone has access to everyone else's files, so basically don't delete any mixes that dont belong to you.
I guess that covers it.
Instructions
You need to have an FTP client of some sort to upload your files. If you don't know how to use FTP its real simple, do a google search I'm providing all the access information people need. For macs I recommend Cyberduck, and for PC's I recommend SmartFTP.
server: music.djandrewgarcia.com
username: trance
password: musicguest
Simply put in the above information in your browswer or FTP client and there should be a folder called "music.djandrewgarcia.com" or if not it should just be a root directory on that server. Upload and organize your files as necessary (feel free to create peresonal folders in order to keep things organized).
so if you login and create a folder "JoeDJ" and then put your mix "joesmix.mp3" in there the URL would be:
http://music.djandrewgarcia.com/joeDJ/joesmix.mp3
Hope all that is clear. If there are any questions leave them in THIS THREAD don't pm me unless its appropriate. Also, the account I've created on the subdomain for this service im providing is exclusively ftp so don't try anything funny through SSH or telnet. If I get sketched out about how people are using this (aka if people are abusing) I'll more than likely have to stop doing this. Enjoy! :) |

| yea i hear that. the only problem im foreseeing is that there will be competition between different users for server processing. if a lot of people are all trying to upload their mixes at the same time there might slowdowns. So as things come up feel free to post any issues in this thread. |

It's great that you're providing free hosting for TAs to share sets, productions, etc., but do be aware of some security concerns that may arise from this.
If your web host has scripting (PHP, Perl/CGI, etc.), you may want to restrict scripting if the upload directory is web-accessible. It's possible to do all sorts of stuff if you're not careful.
Just be aware of this, but your policy of enforcing music-only should help, but you have to enforce it.
