Yeah, the art work really is probably one of the most eerie pieces I have ever seen.
If you'd like to see more from the artist, here's his deviant art page.

Okay, finally have a moment to follow up. I gave this a couple of listens yesterday at work. From a technical standpoint, I thought the mixing was nice. Chillout mixes can be a real bitch when it comes to actually "mixing" the tracks, but you've handled it very well here.
Unfortunately, the majority of the track list just didn't hit home for me (this is all personal preference of course, and thus not a reflection of your mixing skills). Some of the tracks were what I like to hear in a chill set, but, again, most just didn't hit home with me.
I've said it before, but I'll stress it yet again: who needs to go out and buy music when we have such talented DJs and producers right here?!
I'm looking forward to future mixes, so keep playing with Ableton! |

Yeah, I spent a lot of time trying to get the mixing to the level I wanted it, thanks for commenting on the technical aspect.
As for the track list, I think chill out tracks and mixes can be real hit or miss for certain people. For example, Corentin's (sp?) chill series on here is well mixed, considerable time and intelligence has been put into flow/mood, yet the track selection really just doesn't do it for me. I also did an almost purely cinematic/orchestra chill mix a few months ago, and while I felt the flow and mood were good, I could see how the track listing could put a lot of people off. Basically, I understand why you aren't crazy about the tracks, but I appreciate the technical complements.
The talent on this board is very good, however I feel the chill mixes between Corentin and Coded, even Wicked Neo's chill set a while back, are far superior to the crap that is on store shelves. While I am happy to hear mixes on here, I am frustrated that professional chill efforts aren't up to the level of an Amateur DJ forum. |

I agree with your analysis. Hell, even many of the trance mixes on here equal or surpass what you'd find on store shelves! Mon-SooN and Metatron in particular hit the right spot for me every time.
With regard to ambient/chillout/downtempo, let me stress that I cut my teeth in this genre with Chilled Euphoria mixed by Red Jerry. Those 2 CDs probably biased me greatly, so I lean heavily toward anything with that sound.
And by all means, please keep the mixes coming! :D |

| Yeah, see (not to knock what you like), but I really dislike that "chilled trance" sound, so I understand why you may not like my chill mix (or any of my chill mixes for that matter). |

A wonderful trip man. Have listened to it 5 times or so now and will keep on listening to it as this is the music I love.

| Good point! I really should consider my genre of preference to be chilled trance. Thanks! |

Ha, I feel the same way about your mixes. I love listening to tracks I have never heard before in a mix, but Im pissed when I can't use them! Thanks for the complements, means a lot. |
