Nursing isn't something I just picked out of the course guide and thought, "Hmmm, this will really impress my friends/family/other." Or "Gee, that sounds fun, I'll give that a shot!" |
You got that, you got that FEELING!
But to say nothing influenced you is quite a mean thing to say to all of what's influenced you. |

i knew what i wanted to do with my life ever since i was a little girl, and no one influenced my decisions, nor did i ever feel pressured by family or society to attend college. |
Replace girl with boy and you've got my answer as well. |

LOL, I think you're being little extreme!
Of course I've had influences in my life...but when talking about what Lira's asking...no, I really felt no pressure from outside influences to go to school. |

+1, although I do understand what they (jenny and lucid) meant. For example, I too had this feeling, but they (unlike me) apparently grew up in an environment where they could pursue their vocation without major interferences, reason why they declared there was no influence whatsoever.
(Am I right?)
edit: My post's just become reduntant after Jennypie's :p |

| Both my younger brothers and my older sister were (are) no fans of studying, I've always been the one with best grades. I have a easy time studying so it's no problem. I took a year of after highschool and then applied to uni. The thing over here is though that I get paid by the goverment to study so that helps. |

| Nobody pressured me to follow a particular profession. Right from my childhood I showed an interest in engineering and my parents were only too happy to comply with my wishes :D |

It's something I KNEW I was born to do. My decision to do it had nothing to do with the reasons Lira is talking about. :) |
indeed in the case of nursing jenny i totally agree with u ...
i think nursing is like a "vocation" and i know some girls who are at the nurse school and they told me they wanted to do that since always like you jenny
anyway i admire nurses because they are all so devoted to their jobs , have to handle unpleasant people and are doing a hard job especially with a different schedule every week ! |
