Okay, I finally got to give this a decent listen today. As always your mixing/phrasing/eq'ing are right on. Everything is tight and seamless. I only wish my mixing skills were at this level right now. Slowly but surely I am improving, but I'm nothing like this. Pat yourself on the back, sir. From a technical standpoint, I don't know where you could improve!
This is a good set, but the track list just didn't hit home for me this time (this is all personal preference, and it is no reflection on your abilities). I don't know what proper terms to use, so I'll just try my best to explain it anyway. This set had a techier, edgier, more "industrial" sound. By that I mean it felt a little "harsher" than most of your other mixes. The first few tracks reminded me of being in a large city after dark. I felt kind of crowded but lost at the same time, if that makes any sense. So, the title and artwork are very appropriate, I feel. :)
Evenstar is the tune of the mix! The mix got a little "lighter" and a little more uplifting towards the end, and this track is just a perfect example of the style of trance I enjoy most. Thanks for introducing me to this fine work.
As always, I remain a loyal fan, and I look forward to more of your mixes. But for me, you have yet to equal or surpass Exultation. If you haven't listened to it, people, hit his site and get it today! |

Excellant mix this!! Mixing, structure and tune selection is quality throughout, only thing is i couldn't help but think Ascendancy would of sounded better after Luna Negra.
Also where you get Above & Beyond - Good For Me (Thomas Datt Remix) from?? |
Hiya! that's grand to have such positive feedback from a dj who is mastering this kind of trance :)
Well, let me explain why I picked 8,9,10 tracks in that order. Ascendancy is in A-minor, while the whole trick is with Mira, which is Am-Dbm-Am, where Dbm (i.e C#m, 12A key) is the melody part. The ending of Mira is really poor, so the following track should start earlier and be Dbm (Luna Negra). Your remark is reasonable, but I don't think it's a sin to play Luna Negra 2 tracks after Ascendancy ;)
I've found Thomas Datt remix on some forum, can't recall which exactly. The track will be released soon on Anjuna. Cheers! |

Hello mate, that's a nicely written review. I think I know what you mean by "harsher" flavour. Every my mix has slightly different theme/approach, so that everyone finds something he likes. It is awesome you were able to feel the theme in the first tracks! Your love to trance music is infinite, you seem to be the kindest person here on TA, praising many of the djs efforts. Cheers for that! :) |

Sir! I'm giving this another listen this morning at home while I clean house. I first listened to this mix at work on a rather crummy sound system.
I get it now. I get this mix now. I couldn't really hear it at work, but now that I'm on a much better system, I hear what I missed the first time. :)
Can't wait for that colab between you and Metatron. |

I really enjoyed this, some good tunes and very smooth mixing.
Couple of criticisms, even though the mixing was very smooth and all harmonic and stuff, it was a bit flat. Theres nothing wrong with that per se, but at no point during listening to this did i sit up and think, "ooh were the did that bassline come from" or something if you get me. Sometimes I think its good to mix up your mixing styles from time to time, rather than just smoothly smoothly, keeps people on their toes ;)
Secondly, whilst I like all the tracks you've used, they do get a bit samey samey. Again theres nothing massivley wrong with this, but were I to hear a set like this out at a club it wouldn't hold my attention and I'd probably be on and off the dancefloor.
Anyway, these aren't major criticisms and are quite down to personal taste. Like I said, i really enjoyed listening to this, been a while since I've heard a whole set of this kinda trance that hasnt bored me silly. Good work!! :D |

hehe, you seem to enjoy the music while cleansing the house as much as I do :) Apparently such background is good for any boring activity, lol ;) And the collab is on the way! Thanks Zoso!

Thank you for your honest opinion. These kind of reviews do mean the most for me. I think I know what you mean. Well, I consider most of my mixes as an individual journey rather than club owning material. That could explain why I strive to get my transitions as smooth as possible. And that is one of these sets. I'd like to listen to it while travelling by car or bus at night. Also good point on the "samey samey". The progression in this mix is poor - I agree. I was aware of that, yet you are the first person to mention this.
Thanks a million for listening and summarizing my work. |

I dont think its necessarily a progession problem, the mix certainly preogresses quite well, it does actually go somewhere. Its more that all the tunes are still all quite similar in style and structure. I personally like to hear a bit more variation. But, as you've said, this isnt a club mix so to speak and as such it doesnt really matter as much. |

Hey MOnsoOn!
Some nice tracks you put in here, I loved your last set, so I've downloaded it , got a bit of a listen on my ty speakers, but it's going on the iPOD for the bus tommorrow.
Anyway, in a few months I should have the final LOTR remix I'm gonna do ;) |

| The first few tracks are depressing and your intro track did not help much and felt it could have been chosen better. The set starts off bland and stays that way for the remainder of the period. Only one track stood out from the rest and that was Sunny Lax – M.I.R.A. Your technical skills, however, remain polished, but the quality factor just isn’t there. As few people have said before, you are capable of more than this especially with the track selection. Well, this is going to be my last review for now as school is my top priority so good luck with everything buddy. |
