Hey guys,

I was wondering what are the best snowboarding places near NYC. I want to limit this to no more than a 4 hour drive away from the city. For instance, I've heard of hunter mountain but I don't know if it is any good. Also, I'm looking for a place that does rentals and teaches classes ;) Thanks!
Vlad
Jack Frost/Big Boulder
Camelback

Both are a 2 hr. drive from NYC.

The southern resorts in Vermont are within a 4 hour drive of NYC. Stratton & Mt Snow are both good, and the closest to the city.

2 hours from the city in upstate NY, Windham and Hunter are both okay, but windham is better. Windham normally has a better park.

If your into hitting up the park, mountain creek is the best place in either NJ or PA, its also the closest.

All of these places suck right now because of the lack of winter. Its not worth taking a trip to any place right now, except maybe vermont. Wait until mid January, I hear that's when winter will finally arrive.
