Help Needed for Money Exchange

Hey guys
i hope you can help me with this
I am going to New York for a couple of days and i need to exchange some Canadian $ into US $
So my question is the following: is it better to echange it at an exdchange shop or a Bank ? if the answer is exchange shop whcih one has the best rates in Montreal ?
Any1 can help me ? |

Hope you got some rest after that hectic NYE. Was fun chilling with you throughout the night. :)
I'd say go to the bank... whenever I convert money for travel I hit up my Scotia Bank... they seem to give me the best rate compared to those small exchnage shops

sometimes it's cheaper just to withdraw directly from an ATM in the States rather than exchange your money before.
Most banks charge a flat fee for each withdrawl, usually between 3-5$ for that service, so if you take out the right amount, you would save money! It may be cheaper doing it this way than paying a percentage % at your bank or exchange place.
I did that going to Europe; 0$ cash, only Interac and it worked out great! |

Hey Marcus Great chillin with you @ Resolution, I will call you once i get back from NYC.
I had the impression that the Banks where better but wasnt sure thx for clarifying that
I am also gonna ask my bank what is the flat rate they charge to see if i will go with Bertuzz's advice
