How is the Gemini ICDJ Pro CD System and Mixer ?

I have been mixing using virtual Dj for maybe 6 months now and I just love it. The thing is, I want to try the big boy stuff and was wondering how the Gemini ICDJ Pro CD System and Mixer is for starters. Also, are there any players and mixers that you can recommend other than this one at a reasonable price (Under $700).
PS-I'm looking for something that I can learn with, but also over time continue to master. |

Don't buy the gemini!!!!
Look at getting some Pioneer CDJ-200's. Get a decent mixer and you'll be much better off! |

Atmos - I'm a Gemini user...i'd stay away from the icdj (no effects)- i think the CFX-50 (or MPX-30) is a better deal.
I currently use the Gemini CFX-50 dual decks ($300) with Gemini PMX-05 mixer ($100)...and they work great - both have effects. no mp3/no sampling (u wont find sampling on most decks anyway...mp3 ability is becoming more common). click on the video link in my signature to see this gear in action. i run an online trance radio station and everything on it was mixed on this gear. if you can learn to use all the buttons on these decks, you can use any CD deck.
CFX is the most features for the money you can find (effects, cues, looping) - especially if it's your first cd decks & mixer. i wouldn't drop over $1000 on nicer gear if youre just easing into this (even if u can afford it). if you find this is the thing 4 u, u will have no problem dropping the $$$ for high-end gear!
if you are a VirtualDJ poweruser (you use the advanced skins)...any CD deck is an easy transition. i use virtualDJ for remixes.
the big brother to the CFX-50 is the MPX-30 ($300) - a single CD deck (traditional looking) with same functions as CFX, PLUS mp3 & sampling. if u went this route: $300 + $300 + $100...
only problem is MPX-30s are hard to find because gemini is coming out with a MPX-40 cd player with mp3/effects/sampling/everything, but it will be expensive. since MPX-30s are discontinued, it's the perfect time to snatch them up cheap.
hope that explains a little of the Gemini world 4 ya.
good luck! |

If he buys a better name than Gemini, and decides to sell his gear, he'll get a much better return on ebay!
I honestly haven't used many of their products, though.

i think he would still be out close to $400 anyway thru reselling...plus instead of selling it on ebay (since it was so inexpensive in the first place)...he can just keep it as backup gear. or give it to his little brother.
