I have a laptop, and the integrated card did not nearly have enough outputs (I only needed two, haha), so I opted for an Echo IndigoDJ PCMCIA card.
Only annoyance I have now with it is that PCMCIA is now being replaced by ExpressCard, which I did not forsee happening. I am not aware of any ExpressCard audio interfaces yet, but I haven't been looking.
I purchased my IndigoDJ card through djdeals.com, but I don't know if I would recommend them at this point.
I still use both internal and external soundcards- internal for non-DirectSound sources (games included) and recording (line in and microphone =), and external for playback through the software media players. |
