About the same for me. A track's framework will just sort of explode from my mind, fully formed, into the playlist, and then I'll let it stew while I think of fun things to do with it. |

| I can barf one out in a few hours if pressed, but to get it to a level where I'm actually happy with it I'd say 2-3 weeks, or around 20-40 work hours. |

I usually have my best ideas form in one day... My best tracks have always been finished in a day. However, there are a few tracks that took up to a week or so of on and off work that I'm also proud of.
I don't know why, but working feverishly for many many days on a track seems to negate my inspiration on it. Sadly, I end up spending more time working on instruments, drums, and loops than actual finished tracks. |

When I'm in the zone, two solid work sessions before I have something I'm happy with. Usually two more before I'd call it done sound/technical wise.
If not, I can just dawdle and fiddle for ages :p |

I have one song I've been tinkering on for the past 6 months, than I have another I've been working on for a week and it's just about finished.
sometimes everything comes to me practically at once, other times I have to keep playing back the tracks I have down searching for that one piece of inspiration that'll set it all in motion. |

I've got one track that I've been working on for over 3 years.
Time should never be an important factor when writing music. |
