Agreed.
I knew this clip was available for a few days and avoided searching and watching it. It is only because of this thread and genuine curiosity I viewed it.
Thread starter made this very accessible, but nobody pointed a gun to my head and said "WATCH IT". |
I think i have been desensitized to this kind stuff over the years cause it had no effect on me.
I remember when they first evaded Iraq, and a few of soldiers/Americans were kidnapped and be headed. I saw the videos of it...and it had no effect on me whatsoever...
Kinda scary that I think about it now... |

This video has been around since the day of the actual hanging. This isn't new news.
This is:

Updated: 1:58 p.m. ET Jan 3, 2007
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq’s national security adviser told NBC News on Wednesday that three individuals have been arrested in connection with a video of Saddam Hussein’s execution that was leaked.
“I can officially now confirm the arrest of three individuals in the case of the execution of Saddam Hussein,” said Iraqi national security adviser Mowaffak al-Rubaie. |

I won't watch the video...
It is interesting however that people are focusing more on the death of this one murderer and not the 100,000+ that he was responsible for killing. |

There is an outcry about this video....yet no outcry about the execution itself....
No matter the circumstances...we can NEVER be a civilized world whilst rejoicing in the willful death of another human being.
I hope the moderator will shut this thread down! |
I did not post it for ppl to gawk or get offended, I posted it because I am angry at the way "it" was handled, It was terrible and made me furious, your response substantiates the same feeling I had too. People need to see how civilization has become. and to those who want to flame me on this thread, realize the reason I posted it first.
don't push PLAY if it angers you all. Thank you!! |

capital punishment is, IMHO, barbaric enough without s like this guy turning it into a spectacle after the fact.

Glad to hear that...but maybe you should have started a discussion thread without posting the link...let people seek out youtube if they really feel the need to see the demise of another human being!
I still think it should be removed from the board! |

Meh, I don't see the reason why this thread should be deleted.
Anything on youtube should be able to be posted on TA.
It's up to the individual whether or not they click on the link, and really - should we care if Sadaam is disrespected at this point? Sure it was wrong of those idiots to mock the guy on the verge of his death - but who knows how Sadaam could have possibly affected these individuals.
I did not click on the video, no interest in seeing it personally. |

I think this was said before, but if you don't want to watch it, don't. It's there if you wish to. I for one think its morbid, and upon readin the article Chris posted, am bothered by the fact that he was mocked the way he was seconds before his death. What he did was wrong. That is no excuse to taunt someone on their deathbed. |

A part of this clip was actually shown on the news ... dont remember which channel it was but thats how I heard it was posted.
Its sad how he got mocked right before his death...sure what he did in the past was evil, but your about the kill the dude cut him slack for at least that 5 min. |
I respect your opinion but...
would you give hitler the same respect? lets be honest and look at numbers here, Saddam was a world war away from being on the same scale as hitler, we don't realize the magnitude of millions of dead people in this country (thank God) let alone the senseless and brutal killing your own people(woman and childern included) by the head of your own country.
People who have had there love ones murdered senselessly get closure by watching the execution of the person who took just 1 life like many of our neighbours in the south do, now amplify that number to the degree of hundreds of thousands, experts even put the number in millions.
IMO i believe the saying "a man will die as he lived" in saddam's case a evil, disrespectful and pitiful way. |

I almost feel sorry for you.
IMHO everyone deserves respect, or at least silence, before they die, everyone... even Hitler. No one, NO ONE deserves mockery and disrespect. |

If memory serves, he taunted them back.
He died bravely, but there is no excuse for anyone to belittle another man (however cruel) only moments before his death. |
