Damn, I originally wanted to stay here but opted to stay at The Sheraton Center coz it was closer. Will prolly book the W for Valentine's weekend. Nice pics. Which room was that? The Wunderful?

| A friend of mine rented a room at the W and it looked exactly like the one in the first picture in this thread, so I doubt they're all unique. |

And now just for a fun little bit of contrast...:D
So I was at this poker tournament a few weeks ago. It ended really late, and because I live in laval and worked the next day, I had to find a place to stay for the night. So, having no class and no standards, I stay at the sleeziest, cheapest hotel on my way, right on the worst bit of St-Catherine - Le refuge des voyageurs (right across the street from opera). The entrance is a pair of cracky rotten wood stairs by the entrance of a sex shop. On my way up, I've been stopped by three different prostitutes - one of them was a 60 year old grandma, and another was a crack whore.
There are no bathrooms in the room. Just two common bathrooms for every floor. The room itself consisted of three half-finished wooden walls, a dirty red brick wall, a few spider webs in the window, a cracking dirty floor and pipes (I kid you not) running through the ceilling. The window itself was dirty and full of cracks. Had a nice view on the entrance of the club (as you can imagine, probably not the best place to get some sleep). |

I'm one of those people that figures that since I'm in a foreign city to primarily party, the only need a hotel needs to fulfill is the need to sleep. All hotels look the same once my eyes are closed, so I don't care that much what hotel I'm at.
This time we've stayed at Globetrotters Hostel, and considering its price, it was worth every penny. $200-300 a night for a hotel is really overkill imo. I'd rather spend that money elsewhere. |
