Do you believe religion and fate are mutually exclusive? I just wanted to hear what my other fellow TAs thought about this subject |

| as much as I dont believe in god and all that something makes me believe in it. im sure theres something deeper that binds us. something not necessarily religious. so to answer the question, yeah a big part of me does believe in fate. |

| Believing in fate would make me unimaginably depressed. So no. |

Not being in control of your future? Being a slave to whats been determined for you? Not cool! |

| Fate is like reading a book backwards & getting to the start of the book just as you are born. (obviously you reading the book in your mothers womb just before you come out of her vagina. The book was probably formed out of solidified placenta) |

Both are just beliefs.
One, you give up control over your own life and accept whatever is given to you, and the other you give up control over your own life and accept whatever is given to you.
Completely different things man. |

hmm well I see it another way. I look at faith as more of something that relates to an invididual and not to the big picture. I guess in the end it connects us all but its mostly just focused on you and what becomes of your life. id say it gives you hope more than anything. to know deep down youre meant for something and that what you do matters.
in any case I dont really see it as control as per the fact that you dont realize its happening. so everything you do is still your choice. the outcome is what was meant to happen for you because of the way it happened. and who knows the laws and bounderies of it? ive just seen a few things happen that i know i couldnt explain without using the word. coinsidence is too small of a word with too little meaning to explain certain occourences. |
