Are there any hardware controllers which are greared towards DJs and not so much producing? I would love to get something but the only things I can find are frikken way out of budget (i.e. The new A&H). I would idealy like something that has built in soundcard and is a mixer of sorts?
Any ideas? |

| the A&H xone 3d is the only mixer with built in sound card and midi capability currently. there's a new denon mixer (dont quote me, it may not be denon) that will be released soon that has a built in firewire soundcard and midi capability. if you dont mind using an external interface then id HIGHLY recommend the DJM800. its got a built in midi clock and 99% of the controls are midi mappable. other than that you could go for the ecler nuo 4 or 5, and if you can afford it definately go for the Xone 3D. cheers and good luck |

I'm thinking about leaving my CDJs at home and just taking my Nuo4 to use with Ableton (since it has MIDI capability). Not sure how well that'll work out yet, but I may give it a try.
Only reason I wouldn't be taking CDJs is because I don't have cases yet, and so I'm using the original boxes to transport, which are pretty large.
The Wii controlling Ableton is pretty neat; Bluetooth -> MIDI translation? |
