Hi,
How do you make the bass sound you start hearing from the beginning in following track: http://www.mascottemusic.be/mp3/11%...0italodisco.mp3
Anybody can describe step by step how to make this sound. Do you also need effects like flanger etc..?
Or if anybody could make a patch of this sound made with one of the popular VSTi's like Vanguard or Z3ta+ that would be really great. |

buh i hate when people use sidechaining to make an offbeat bassline.
no flanger, just some nice distortion. its layered too. theres the top part of the bass which is something distorted, im kinda clueless what waveform it is, and then theres just a fat sine/tri/lowpassed saw pure bass. |

There's actually no sidechaining in this sample.
What you want is probably more of a moogish waveform. Then there's a lot of distortion and a chorus/unison, these measures will give you more high-end, resulting in that hissing sound you hear. Cut out some of the mids using an EQ to give the sound the hollowness, and boost the low and high ends. If you do this, you probably won't need a sub-bass sine, either. |
