I've been using VDJ for a long time now and all of a sudden, sometimes when I mix, I hear the kicks of the songs im playing jump, sound choppy, and sometimes skip. It happened all of a sudden and I can't make a decent mix with the kicks sounding like they do. Does anyone know what it is and what I can do to fix it?

could be somethin else taking up all your sys resources causing your soundcard ot lag more or something.. check what other programsa re runnig and if they're taking up ram
also.. your bestbet is to reinstlal windows
:)

reinstalling Windows is too radical dude. just free up some HDD space, quit some background apps and get Traktor instead of VDJ!

I briefly tried Virtual DJ a few months ago and I could never get used to it. The audio engine is weird or something, as I'd often get strange sound issues like what you described as well. Never any issues in Ableton though.

Yea since then I bought Ableton 6.01 but it's kind of difficult to get used to it after using VDJ and I got a time slot on some radio show so I need to either get better @ Ableton or fix my VDJ prob. Any more suggestions?

It is def a RAM issue.

Upgrade your ram... its super easy just plug and play.

Also, frequently shut down your comp. Don't open up any other programs while using VDJ.

Another possibility is that you turned on a feature to keep the pitch intact when you modify the BPM. This tends to disort the sound.

its probably the VDJ's ty sound engine TOO!! Get Traktor DJ 3 and forget about that toy imho! :toocool:

I don't know why some people still force themselves to use Automix-like crap. TRAKTOR 3 is where it's at.

Anyway, it might be an issue with latency. See if you can find such setting and if so, increase it and see what happens.
