Was wondering how many out there were using these headphones in CLUB ENVIRONMENTS and how they worked there.

I currently use the newer Technics RPDH 1200's. The big silver ones. But thats the problem..they are SO BIG and SO HEAVY. Not very comfortable for me.

I use the RPDJ1210's (not the 1200's) and I love them. Heavy enoug hto be substantial, not enough to get sore on your head, sound great, and have lasted for years.

The RPDH1200's almost look like Somy 700's with a Technics label... I hope they sound better.

they are virtually invulnerable (the DJ1210) look at the joints :) great design. although....sound is a little too sparkly... the mid-highs are too emphasized. oh.. and they have HUGE bass response:D
sound izolation is 4 out of 5
SPAWNmaster
honestly if i were you id stick with the rpdh1200's. however, headphones are definately a very personal thing, arguably even more so than cdjs vs tt's, mixers, etc. anyways i find the weight of the rpdh indicates just how solid these things are. the weight is part of the attraction for me but like i said before its a personal thing. anwyays if you do end up with the rpdj def post a review

I wasn't actually going to follow this up, but as the SPAWNmaster posted something about the personal preference, I thought I would.

And that's simply that I don't agree! Well, I do with the bass response, but I wouldn't say it was huge. Pretty much everything you described is how I would descrive the Sony 700's. Too much mid-range, and too big a bass range, so they sounded muddy and ended up drowning your ears in sound.

Whereas, I find the Dj1210's have a perfect range across the board, a solid enough 'thunk' to the bass drum, and a mid range that's there, but not dominant.

(All this is based on their use on my DJM600 - and when using them for Audio-dub work.)

Of course, it's 1000000000000% my opinion, which I why I posted this, to prove SPAWNmaster correct....

What is the difference between the DJ 1200's and the DJ 1210's?

I LOVE the RPDJ1210's. I own a pair for almost 5 years already, and they finally went bad. I tried many other headphones live at the clubs and I wish I would've bought me another pair of the RPDJ's.

In my experience..

- Tech's RPDH 1200 (The big silver ones) are too big, bulky, and uncomfotable.

- Sony's MDR7506... Kick ass, but not as much bass, and not as loud as I need them to be.

- Sony's MDRV700... SUCK!!! By all means stay away!

- Pioneer HDJ1000... EN AWESOME... I love the sound, but I have a feeling they will break quick. This is what I ended up staying with but only time will tell.

The DJ 1200 is all black, and the DJ1210 is black and silver.

Am I right in thinking that the D1200's don't have the coiled cord?

I seem to remember that's one of the reasons I bought the 1210's all those years ago in the first place...
