| With Torq on the way, I was wondering if you guys have found some noteworthy vst plugins that you use either for Torq or for whatever. There's so much out there I don't even know where to begin. |

all my vsts and au's go straight into ableton so not sure how theyd work in torq. but for OSX i recommend the following:
vanguard VST synth
Livecut (kinda like BT's tweakbreaker but random based)
Audiodamag'es replicant
if anythign else comes to mind ill let you know |

excuse me for being a complete twat...but i have a basic understanding of VSTs, but could somebody elaborate on what they actually do?
and exactly how would you incorporate one into torq? |

Basically, they're like add on effects that some software supports (like Torq) where you just download them and drag and drop them into a specified folder. They do everything from basic frequency modification to specialized filters, delays, etc. There are thousands out there, many created by C++ programmers I believe. |

| VST's are virtual studio equipment, software written usually for production purposes. VSTi's such as softsynths and compressors or soft drum machines can be used the exact same way. like miamitranceman said you can use them for the most part as effects modules. |

| A compressor is a VST. VSTi is an instrument that is normally at the start of the chain. Does Torq use VSTs or does it rewire thus using the VSTs in the sequencer? |

| torq actually uses vsts although your only allowed 1 per deck at any given time (unless im mistaken) |

| miamitranceman |
| Yep, one per deck at a time. |

| not familiar with torq and its vst capabilities. although for producing i use Bifilter which is an awesome free filter. probably better that some filters that you would pay for. |

try THIS great free synth and can create some sounds from well known tracks such as sasha - xpander. once you start tweaking it you get some great sounds. |
