such a fun night, thanks to every who came out and made the Spundae Anniversary a great and amazing night! I had a great time opening with Syd like always. It went by way too fast though, out of our 3 opening sets together this one just went by in a flash. I'm not sure why, maybe because people arrived much earlier than usual.

I agree it's definitely the best I have ever heard Blank and Jones live. When they first walked in they were immediately excited to play. It certainly showed throughout their set. They played a lot of great tracks!

btw Dave the new lighting was installed a few weeks before the new year, I think a lot of people thought it was just an added bonus for all the recent holiday and themed nights. They've been permanent since mid December though.

great pictures and videos!!

was the night's music being recorded? i asked piet and he said it looked like it was, pointing to a computer on ground, but neither of us were sure. it was funny to see b&j get distracted by the crazy arcobats on the stage and start taking pics of their own :stongue:
MR STROKE
can anyone tell me what they were playing off of?? I didn't see them touch cd-j's at all, just a powerbook and mixer?

Oh I know, but the street lights (and how they were used) and the extra lighting on stage def helped with the night.

But yeah, experienced a lot of the new lighting at Ferry on Dec 30th. Thought it was new years weekend only thing but glad they kept it perm because it's lighting that's really effective on trance nights. Especially the lights on top of the speakers...they can move so fast, lol

It indeed was. And waiting on it. Not sure of any restrictions it'll have on it (ie. whether it can be freely given out.)

Actually believe they were Using Traktor w/ a special effects mixer (and did the transitions through it). Only used the main mixer for a couple of effects and EQs.

When they played at 1015 they played off Traktor and from what it looks like they use their own mini midi mixer that wires through the venue mixer. I'm sure they were doing this also at Ruby Skye since it took them a minute to set up.

We were upstairs directly above the DJ booth. From what I saw they were using their Laptop and controlling it with a Hercules MK2 Midi Controller, yes the same "Fisher Price" looking mixer I have that DJ Blurr and Cyber Joe tried playing with at one of my house parties. It looks like something you can get from Toys 'r Us :stongue: It's actually a very good midi controller / sound card because it has it's own jog wheel, auto bpm sync and pitch bend control for each channel (2 channels) and the best part is it only cost $250 at Guitar Center. The bad thing about it is it's EQ's but if you hook it up with an external mixer like what B&J did, you can control the sound with the club mixer.

It was my first time at Ruby this year and may I say.... Ruby looked elegant. Just like what other people said, the lighting was insane. The side shows were entertaining and ofcourse hat's of to B&J for dropping on ef the best set I've seen them perform.

Based on Ruby's schedule, looks like I'll be hanging out at Ruby more the next few weekends.

Here's a picture of the laptop from Spundae LA in Novemeber

I don't use these programs but I'm sure someone will make it out. And maybe Blurr knows what they used last time at 1015.
