hey guys .. i own one DXM06.. and im thinking of upgrading it to a possible another 2 channel mixer or a 4 channel one.. possibly another 2 channel one .. which i m thinking maybe the pioneer 909 .. what do u guys think .. any better recommendations ??
SPAWNmaster
the 909 is mostly a scratch/hip-hop style mixer design. it goes down to what sort of dj you are i suppose. my recommendation is save a little more and go for the DJM800 you wont regret it.

ok .. so i have djm800 .. well i think the 800 is abit overkill for me .. i spin trance but yea.. still i have recommendations for the rane empath as well .. how good is it ??

The Rane Empath is an amazing mixer, but there are quite a few amazing mixers. It all depends on what you want.

What are you looking for in a mixer? How many channels? What price range? What specific features, if any? Do you ever plan to do any turntablism/scratching/etc?

well right now .. price is not an issue... i m using onli 2 TT .. so i m no hurry to get a 4 channel mixer .. maybe a 3 channel or a 2 channel ... and yes i m looking for a very well rounded mixer ..with good sound .. good efx .. and i m going into scratching .. learning to scartch will probably be the better word for it .. hahah .. any recommendations ??

Actually the Rane Empath would be a really good choice for you I think. It does not have onboard effects though - if price really isn't an issue I might go with the Empath and a Pioneer EFX1000.

The DJM-800 would be a good choice too I think. That has a bunch of effects on board.

Also check out the Vestax PMC-08 if you're looking to get more into turntablism.

haha, c'mon man, thinking about this decision is part of the excitement!

Personally, I'd probably go for the 800 out of those, unless I had the money to burn to do the empath plus efx1000.

How much are these three mixers out in australia?
jun139
the rane empath black - $1499

rane empath rotary performance mixer - $1749

pioneer djm 600 - $1499

pioneer djm 800 - $2199

i don't believe it ... djm 600 is the same price as rane empath... i can't seem to find the price of the djm 909 ...

but yea .. decided to throw in the 600 to replace the 909 ...

I wouldn't even consider the DJM-600 if it's the same price as the empath...

Are those AUS dollars?

jun139
hahah .. yeah its all in aussie dollars. whats so good bout the empath anywayz ??

The empath is just a great quality mixer...it's got penny and giles faders, everything just feels great, and the sound quality is superb. Far superior to the DJM-600. I've played on a lot of DJM-600s, and they've all had at least something broken on them.

BTW check your PMs
