I am sure that's 5 hours of talk-life/internet useage/etc. Not on standby, lol.
With that, 5 hours is good for a cellphone that small and with that much capability. |

its exclusive meaning they'll either be the first carrier to sell it for the first 90 days or 180 days; that or they'll be the exclusive carrier for it period.
lots of technology can be unlocked, especially phones; it doesn't mean that it will work properly though. In relation to what jethro was mentioning I don't think cingular is stupid enough to make this easily accessible to everyone. A blackberry or samsung is one thing, but from a marketing prespective to be the forefront of a new apple product launch, I'm sure there will be some things proprietary to cingular's network. |

There really is no question that, given Apple's history, the first gen would be very janky. Even the 2nd gen, at that. It looks awesome and I love the idea/functionality of it.
As with the iPod, I'm sure they'll come out with higher capacity/lower price versions not too long after the initial model.
Gotta give it to Apple of innovation |

5 hours of battery life????
Sony Ericsson FTW any of the Walkman models, have 30 hours of battery life. 2 to 3+ MP cameras, and 512 to 4 GB memory cards. Most are under $ 300 and unlocked.
Lex is right buy the 2nd gen version when it's around ~$200 |

Damn, I just got a new phone for xmas, and I was just starting to like it (is an LG)
:p
actually, i dunno if i'm too keen on the new iphone. I agree with Clovis, "I just want a phone" also I was happy with my cheapo nokia flip phone i had before i got this new LG phone
the only reason I wanted a new phone (i got this one as an xmas present) was to get a GPS thingy on my phone. I had heard that the new Razors had the GPS (I hate razors but if it had GPS i could deal) so I asked my pops to get me that for xmas. I am horrible with directions and the GPS thing is so necessary for me. My dad went to the store and they didn't have the GPS on the Razors, just on their big palm phones which i definatly did not want. So he got me the LG one. Now that I've had it for a while i've grown to like it.
Although the google maps thing on the iphone is even better than the GPS thing. I'd get the iphone for that. but i'll wait a year or two |

I like... Now that my razr is full of sand I'm in the market for a new phone anyway
But I've heard alot of issues with unlocking phones... Guess I'll wait 'till T-Mobile carries 'em.
Just gotta get used to hearing the sand rattling around whenever someone talks really loud. :D
