the trance scene (in my opinion) will be on the verge of techno by the end of this year.. but then in 2002, i think ppl will make techno become more uplifting, and eventually.. by the end of 2002.. we'll be back at uplifting trance.
thats my serious speculation there =p..
hehe

I think 2002 will be the year of Hardhouse (even more than it is this year)! At least here in Holland it will be! ( I think) Don't know how it's gonna be with you guys in England.
But man, everyone here thinks Hardhouse is sooo cool! Even people who don't know a about trance go mad when hardhouse is spinned in a club. A few friends of mine who don't come much further than Delerium - Silence, only want to go to a big rave if Tom Harding or Lab4 is in the line-up! The wankers!!!
The problem with Hardhouse (when I say hardhouse I mean Nu-NRG) is that it's so catchy and so danceable... so that's why people who are new to the scene like it that much!
I think, because HH is so corny and repetitive, the only way to keep it interesting for the public is to make it faster and faster and faster (otherwise it will become boring). And we'll get the same mess as we got with Hardcore/Gabber in the begin 90's. It goes bigger, more popular, faster, more popular faster , faster and then..... **BANGGGG** ..... it implodes. Leaving a big black hole with no interest for any electronic music at all.
That's my doom-scenario when Nu-NRG get's too popular... beware! :D

Later!

I think hard house is cool, but given the choice it would be trance in clubz any day. Hard House in the UK has mainly been driven to the after-hours clubs (like insomniakz & area 51 etc) which is cool. Hard house after hours seriously kicks ass because after a good nights trance you are sometimes left needing more, and for that u need to go mental to something, and HH is the key heheh...

We actually have clubs here which have mixed line-ups of both easy trance DJs and hardcore HH/NRG DJs. Something for everyone and it seems to work pretty well.

Oh no, I can't stand hardhouse, especially like Public Domain as I've mentioned so many times before. I also can't the rubbish like BK, Lisa Lashes, Ingo and Whiteman etc, (who ruined Signum "Just Do It") with wailing siren noises and male voices shouting nonsnense about house's and , I find it like a form of torture! I don't even class these people as proper DJ's!
tu_face
hard house is just as hard to DJ as anything else :) maybe u havent had the right kind of HH experiance, go to an after hours club where hard house is being played and i can nearly guarentee that if u on a good roll and u had a good night of trance, u will be loving it ;)

peace
