Last call

SO, I was wondering when last call, or when your cities, states require clubs/bars to stop serving alchohol. I know that in Seattle, it's 1: 45 ish. Way too early IMO and it really drags down a "nightlife." I think the majority of places in the world don't have any set law like this and stop serving when the place closes, but if your city has one, what time is it? And what are your feelings on it?

I just turned 21 about 3 months ago, and I thought I would finally be content about being able to go out and do things, but the other night me and a couple of friends saw a late night movie at about 10ish. We get out at about 1:10 and decide to find a tavern or something nearby to have a beer or two and just hang out. It's not like we were going to have a heavy drink session. I had about one beer before they stopped serving at 1:30 and kicked everybody out. At this time everything starts closing down, it's not that they just stop serving alchohol. So, don't even plan on going out after 1:45 unless your going to an after-hours, which I think are only 2 in the city of Seattle. So, we are forced back into one of our friends houses.

This and other things I have experienced since turning 21 have bugged me about our sorry excuse for nightly leisure. I wouldn't bug me so much if the places didn't close down at the time they stop serving alchohol, but then again, they would be losing money. Why does it have to be so ing early though?

in Wisconsin... 2:00am (weeknights) / 2:30am (weekends)

which translates to 1:45am and 2:15am when you take bartime into account.

meh, i used to think it was wank, but now it doesn't really bother me. it makes going out in Chicago (bartime = 4am/5am) even more of a special occasion.

2 am here in California, later in other states. 24 hours in Vegas

Bars close at 2am. Wouldn't know when last call is cuz I can't get into the bars.

Places stop selling alcohol at 11:45pm and start again at 6am.

As a non-drinker, it doesn't bother me at all. However, that's left most clubs shutting down at 2AM, leaving less time for the music and less time to experience an artist that I want to see. Although, I can't complain about that for another 1.5 years.

In Chicago its 4:45am last call for alcohol on the weekends, 3:45 during the week for most clubs. Though some newer clubs & bars are 2:45 weekends & 1:45 during the week. In chicagos burbs its it can range from 3:45 to 1:45 depending on the town & county.

I never understood why some places close when it's last call. Here last call is 2am and The Vanguard doesn't close until 4am. Avalon doesn't close until...like 9 or 10am sometimes :nervous: But they start reserving alcohol at like 6am I believe.

Last call: 2am (don't mind it)

Liqour and beer stores close at 10pm, which is the ultimate stupidity. You can't even buy booze at regular convenience stores or anything like that. Stupid Ontario

nyc 4am all day every day

3:30 on weekends, 1:30 on weekdays (I think).

You can't get hard liquour from the store after 8 and beer/cider after 9.

5am here on the weekends, not sure about weekdays though, probably the same. Weekends have a 'lockdown' though, meaning at 3am you can stay where you are and keep drinking, but nobody else is allowed through the doors. So if you're in between clubs at that time, you're ed.
