--The IRS needs to be stronger.
--Higher income taxes for the rich: 50-60%.
--A killer luxury tax
--any politician should have many freedoms stripped away.
--they should be monitored by the FBI and IRS without warrant.
--Everyone they talk to should be monitored as well, creating a vast network of intelligence.

And people wonder why we think the left is tyrannical. |

That's not close to being tyrannical. If wanted to get tyrannical, I'd take away the wealthy twats' property, and nationalize every business there is. Then I'd give the government, it's politicians and lawmakers all of the power, letting them do anything they please.
Seems that anything that doesn't cater to the chaotic free-for-all of capitalism is tyrannical... off.
Almost 750,000 homeless due to capitalism. |

LOL, whoops, looks like I didn't read that properly. I'm... well... sober, but feeling like crap at the moment and a little pissed off [EDIT2: at myself for reasons that's nobody's business], so...
EDIT: But the IRS is a tyrannical institution still. |

Which is why it needs to be fixed. All you have to do is donate a crap load of money and it deducts from taxes. Works well for the rich who can afford to donate as much as they see fit. Fix that and the IRS will be on the side of the people. |

Hmmm, interesting topic.
Other than lowering the alcohol age to 18, discouraging urban planning that spreads cities apart rather than focusing on keeping it closer so people are closer to basic things, encouraging people to rely less on their automobiles starting with good urban planning, legalizing cannabis, amongst other things, I was thinking about an educational system which I thought would work better. I remember in High school when I was in classes with people who didn’t want to do anything after school, never had any plans to, and then became mechanics or some other trade. And then, I think about how much of my high school was wasted because the classes had to cater to these people who didn’t care. I think if those people were given other options and high school focused more on building the skills that most universities impose in the first 2 years, then college could focus more on perfecting whatever it is you are studying. So here’s my idea:
Education is Mandatory for all kids up to the age of 15 (learning a second language is also instituted at the age of 10 and followed through until the end of their high school career), at which time they can choose to drop out and work, go to a vocational school and learn a trade for 4 years, or continue until 18 in an education program with higher standards placed on the liberal arts (reading, writing, philosophy, critical thinking, logic, ect.). It is at that time that the students can pursue an education in college for another 4 years, in which case the 4 years would accomplish the equivalent of both a Bachelors and Masters, because all of the previous work that builds critical thinking and knowledge would have been covered to the students who weren’t pursuing a trade or working and finished the last 3 years in high school. After both the students studying a trade and the university educated students graduate, they would have to go under an apprenticeship for 2 years. After that, they have to test for a certification which will grant them a professional grade in their line of work.
The idea of this educational idea is to promote the idea of quality in work, knowledge of what you do, and that it not be rushed. The people in the work force will truly be masters of what they do. This process will weed out the people who might have strengths in other areas instead of keeping them in high school until 18 just to earn a diploma. They can pursue trades and become masters of their work.
Also, I’d split America in 3 because I think everybody and everything would function better. America is too big for its own good. |

As president, I would reduce the power of the executive branch to a shadow of it's former self utilizing many strategically planned "errors" that could be challenged before the supreme court, allowing the supreme court to exercise it's constitutionally granted power to define the office of the executive.
I would then officially recognize ambassadors from the Independant state of Palestine.
As commander in chief i would effect an immediate and total withdrawal of US troops from the sovereign nation of Iraq with the caviat of a promise to return in full strike mode if sectarian violence wasn't curbed within 6 months.
Finally, i would attempt to revoke the charter of the Federal Reserve, although this is a legislative duty, i'd do my damndest as president to make it happen, converting currency from paper, to notes backed by gold. I'd really push for legislation removing the IRS from existance, I LOVE the idea of a flat tax, even though i prefer a 10% tax that sends 8% to the state, and 2% to the federal government.
I'd likely take the matter before the supreme court based upon the insufficient constitutional power cited in the creation of the IRS.
That's it. that's all i would do as president, because that's all the power a president has within the scope of the constitution. don't try to fool yourself. Presidents cannot legalize marijuana, presidents can't make laws.
and Marc Summers: were you always a failure in life or did your mother just hold your hand too long? You seem to want someone to babysit every interaction between individuals until the end of time. Perhaps the reason the wealthy classes spend so much money on luxury goods is that it stimulates the economy. Having wealthy people SPEND money rewards working people who provide goods and services. TAKING money from wealthy people and redistributing it rewards EVERYONE, irrespective of whether or not they work. Yes Capitalism is a brilliant system, a system where everyone gets exactly the same chance to fail completely. without that chance, NO ONE CAN BE FREE.
The IRS will never be on the side of the people because the people cannot afford to lobby legislatures to create tax law. Parties with the monetary resources to lobby legislatures recieve the deductions and bracketing system they desire. why would they spend so much money if they didn't expect to see a monetary return at least equal to their expenditures?
and while i'm busy explaining myself, here's why the Federal Reserve is the greatest threat to the country that has ever existed: You hear about deficit spending, the national debt etc. There is only one reason that this type of spending is possible, and that is that the government has a private entity that can create more money whenever a politician wants to blow some cash to please potential voters. Inflation is a tax. It takes monetary value away from your savings, your home, and every posession that you have. Don't get confused into thinking that this national debt is a harmless thing. You, and i mean EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU are footing the bill for it every second of your life. WE ARE PAYING SO THAT POLITICIANS CAN PASS SOCIAL PROGRAMS TO BENEFIT THEMSELVES BY PURCHASING VOTERS AND PERPETUATING A VICTIM CLASS IN THE UNITED STATES. It's disgusting, and it's wrong. |

But if you close down the IRS, then Laz will be out of a job and wandering the streets :nervous:
The best thing about being the US president though, is compared to the current one you could turn up as drunk as Boris Y and no one would really notice the difference provided you didnt wobble too much. |
