yeah - if you read #5 in that post i put above, i wasn't thinking out the full degree of his merchandising.
i could see easily 1 million shirts being sold at what, $40 each? that's a $40 million there alone.
and apparently not all of the $50 mil is salary - part is endorsements. |
+ that means he'll probably be doing more commercials in the USA with MLS sponsors...
Its really sickening that this guy is getting paid so much money to kick a ball around. How much are people doing research on cancer cures getting paid? |

I would be so lucky as to be making $250,000 a year with 10 years at a lab. |

Beckham is old
Look to have almost every major supperstart in the football world to be part of MLS one day. The plan to build MLS is to have most of these guys retire from football in the U.S.
Great for footbal in America and a lot less pressure on the stars. |

I doubt having washed up European football stars join the MLS at 38 is going to make the sport any more popular in the USA... :p |

I'm sure David Beckham is saying the same thing about Sasha, Tiesto and the rest that make equivalents in their industry. ;) |

50 million a year is not quite close to what they make...kicking a ball, playing some records...samey :p |

| I'll add that I believe Sasha & Tiesto are over-paid aswell, but not nearly on a Beckham million dollar scale...as if he doesnt have enough money from ads already... lol |

Yeah I know, I was responding to the idea that older European players would come to the MLS to "retire" after their runs with European clubs... |
