Hey all,
I'm able to get some sick rates for the Best Western Holiday Resort on 4333 Collins Ave. I'm definitely planning on going to the conferences and seminars at the Miami Beach Resort too, and obviously the trips out to South Beach to party my ass off.
Has anyone stayed here? Any first hand experiences? Word of mouth information about this place? Seems like a good location, right in the middle of the conference and south beach, but I figure people who've been there before would know better. This will be my first time at the WMC!
Thanks for your input! |

| If you can get a good deal, pounce. hotel rates on sobe will probably shoot up during spring break / wmc. 43rd and collins is a good location, a bit north of south beach but still a quick cab hop away from the action. |

| Sweet... I figure its closer proximity to the Conference will actually make it easier for me to get my ass up to make it there for the seminars. Looks like it's somewhat in the middle of the two places too (Conference, South Beach). Yayuh! |

| how much are the rates? if its not much better than $200 then you'll eat up the savings with taxi fees. |

My personal preference is to be in South Beach.. but I am not planning on attending the conference - just going to party. Going anywhere other than the conference will require transportation of some sort..
The only time we left SoBe last year was to attend parties in Miami, shop at Bal Harbour Shops (93rd) and to visit friends who stayed at 83rd.
I will not be buying a Gucci waist pouch this year so that will eliminate the trip to the mall and the friends are not renting the villa..
I think most things we need can be found by foot.. |

I can get the room for about $130-160 a night... including taxes and fees... |

i'd say you'll probably be spending $40 a day on taxis then...maybe more. so if you can go $175-$200 a day right in South Beach might as well... |

better to rent a car then? i'm giving that some serious thought, since i can probably get a car for $20-30 a day. only two major concerns holding me back from going that route are:
1) exhorbitant parking rates in SoBe
2) i'm planning on partying, and don't wanna have to worry about driving! |

You'd probably spend just as much on the rental car and parking in SoBe than just taking taxis. i'd estimate a taxi from Lincoln Road to your hotel to be $15 or so + tip. make that just 1 time per say thats $30+...lets say you taxi to SoBe for a day party and then back and then tax down again for that nite and back afterwards...that's potential $60 or so right there. again its prob cheaper just to stay in SoBe and pay a bit more... |

:conf: :conf: All this talk about taxis - what about taking the bus? I thought there were a few 24hr routes like the night owl route?
Taxi's always seem like a waste of money IMO. |

The bus is fine, I've mentioned it in other posts. It's VERY cheap and goes everywhere you'd need to. The only problem is it's extremely slow. So if you're pressed for time, do not take it. |
