Wow, good one. You even put a period there so as to exclaim your terseness and emphasize the word.

I bet you have this attitude that you apply to all media that you should always pay for entertainment you wish to own because you have some half-assed sensibility that the artists which comprise a piece of entertainment deserve to "be paid" and the only way to do this is to support the media by paying for it. What a nice world of business that would be. Music and movies, however, aren't like buying a peach at the market - you pay money and whomever sells the product gets a cut, then sends the rest to the production company who paid whomever made the movie over 20 years ago a set amount of money and that was that - the people who deserve the money have already been paid and everything left over from your purchase of the item goes on to a gigantic production company that, quite frankly, makes more money than it actually knows what to do with anyways. I know what you're thinking - gee, what a simplistic viewpoint of an overcomplicated process that I am not really familiar with the inner-workings of but am sure that the developments of free commerce and capitalism have processed to a degree that inextricably links morality and entertainment into, well, another product, that is either stolen or "respected" by "contributing" individuals such as myself. Sure would be nice if it was that easy as well...

Somehow though, I think that the makers of Brain Dead aren't starving. And even if I am just an idiot, you're a fascist bull cockfire with so little to contribute to discussion, it makes me really wonder why you even bother to show your face in most threads. I guess it must be for all that great attention you get.

What a ing gimp. I don't care if you want to 'steal.' I 'steal' all the time. But I don't try to justify it with some bull hollow and sheep-ish reason like 'I've paid my dues.'

Your post wasn't a total waste of time though - Next time I'm having a bit of trouble sleeping, I'll have a quick search for it.

You think I was seriously trying to justify my actions though? Of course it's stealing. I make no lies about that. I just said 'I've paid my dues' (sardonically) because it was an ironic thing to say, not because I legitimately feel that way. Also, it's a line from a movie. >.>

If my response to you doesn't apply to you then just forget it - I was attacking the holier-than-thou attitude some people seem to preach about entertainment value, not you. Though it doesn't really matter because you are asleep now, right?

Certainly feels that way. I'm sorry though - You're probably a really interesting person in real life.

i just hate people complaining about the lack of innovation/risk taking/quality etc in games or movies or music, then go torrent all their interests without realising theyre part of that problem.

i buy everything that im in love with, to support that particular part of popular culture so maybe one day ill see more of the same. not saying you have to, but whats wrong with people seeing the fruits of their labour? knows i wouldnt work for free.

I agree with you to a pretty far extent - I end up purchasing everything that I love as well because somewhere along the line, somebody sees a report that says X product sold X amount of copies and then hopefully says "let's give X division more money to keep doing what they're doing!".

However, it's been proven time and time again that you don't necessarily need big funding and a big parent company to make quality entertainment - in fact, I can think of numerous occasions where it's been the exact opposite. All the huge production companies do for artists (yet seem to take a disgustingly disproportionate amount of the proceeds for?) is bringing the 'product' (no longer a piece of the artist) to the public in a manner which will, the company hopes, sell vast quantities and generate a large amount of money so that people who honestly had dick to do with the actual project itself can live extravagant lifestyles. Companies just make things public. Of course this isn't always the case, but for the most part, the proceeds that you put into buying that favourite CD by your favourite artist go right into the machine to support and spit out other things....like Paris Hilton albums???

Perhaps if people pirated more, it would cause record companies and movie companies to drop most of their projects (the most of which are complete anyways, music, movies, etc...) and adopt only the artists which are sure to make them lots of money. I wonder...would the quality go up, go down, or stay the same?
