Cape Town - Percivalesque (incl. Sample)

No matter how many trance tunes I hear that are overly similar in structure, sampling, melody or atmosphere, I am still surprised and amazed when gems like this one come along. Under an alias, Laurent Véronnez (known for Airwave) brings us Cape Town - Percivalesque. A stunning trance monster that I know a lot of you guys and girls on here would love. The music speaks for itself so I implore you to have a listen immediately. This was the opening track to this year's first A State of Trance Episode on the 11th of January. Personally, as much as I've departed and progressed massively since my days of being "addicted" to only the trance genre of EDM music, tracks of such high quality as this beauty really bring me back to the trance genre time and time again; demonstrating that it's still going strong and I can still love and enjoy it as much as I did back in the day. Needs to be heard by one and all. Great stuff!

* Yes, downsampled, but better than most other ty 64kbps (and lower) samples you hear that are 30sec long.
** Nearly full length, but I faded out before the transition into the next track becomes apparent. |

I agree that it is an awesome tune but some of the middle sounds very similar to Proglifter to me.
Also: in before people hate on this track simply because it was played on ASOT. |

the track itself isn't bad, however it's a little tired. The intro is lovely, but 3 minutes in when the kick comes in is just like another song starting again, no continuation, plus it sounds like most other cape town songs too. I understand the need to do so in small ways but each one should offer a bit of variation.
6/10 - nice at first but instantly forgettable (in 1 or 2 months i dont think i'll have played it in ages) |

| This track is pretty good, the intro is absolutely great and I'll definitely check it out when it gets released. |

Shivers down the spine, which is a rare occasion nowadays.
Another track from thursday's episode I loved almost instantly was Myth - Sjamaan. No irritating and redundant productional tricks, just a gorgeous melody and harmony. |

| Simply gorgeous, altough it does sample a bunch of elements of other airwave tracks :) |

Nothing new there though. As long as he didn't "sample" anyone else this time. |
