i found a tracklist from a previous post of Paul van Dyk - Live @ Love Parade 1998 which is pretty incomplete.
01. ID
02. Paul van Dyk - For An Angel [E-Werk Club Mix]
03. ID
04. Binary Finary - 1998 [Paul van Dyk Remix]
05. ID
06. ID
07. ID
This claims he played 7 songs. So is the track list wrong? or did pvd manage to knock out 7 tunes in 20 minutes? |

| I get that feeling when listening to Jan Johnston - Flesh (DJ Tiesto mix). At the breakdown, all the way to the build up, I get goosebumps :D, and I just relax, and let the song take me away ;) |

this song definitely has taken more places than my '92 taurus.
so gorgeous...
i think it's quite a serious and dark song, it never brings about a smile, but a surge of emotion nonetheless!

holy , OMFG!!! was that Future Sound Of London - Papua New Guinea (Hybrid Mix)???? OMFG!!!! What the was that?.. [starts crying]
and sometimes i also throw my hands up in the air and scream "whooo-hooo" and "yeaaaahaaaaa, tiesto!!!" when i hear tracks like kamaya painters - endless wave or svensong & gielen - twisted (the tiesto part is absolutely random, although it doesn't apply to twisted, i still yell that)
and sometimes i dance |

Hmm...that's strange. Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Armin and DJ Heaven have all left their little bits of Euphoria in Aussie land in the last 7-8 years...
I am certainly not asking you to be a trainspotter but it never hurts to gather more around tranceheads :) as I kick myself when I missed Armin, Ferry Corsten (thinking he's going to fvuked the Torontonians again) --> it just seems that a lot of people are dissing Corsten due to his fine success in the industry.
Oh well, take a listen to DJ Heaven - Ministry of Sound Australian Tour 1997 and you'll start to see the light of what early trance evolved into this major blackhole that we are stuck in. Trance is never about new or old, it's about the experience you get when that tune lingers around your ear drums...those flawless beats and that flow of pure bliss through your veins..we travel back and forth in endless journey once the needles has been laid.
Of course, these are a thing of the past, many people have left trance thinking that it was too cheesy and passe...many DJs have left the scene for tech-house, progressive, breaks.....all I can say is not that they are boring but it's harder to get that second feel...
I'll take on Armin's Remix of Airscape - L'Esperanza instead of Cass & Slide's Glad I Ate Her anytime of the day. (Although it is limited to 500 copies worldwide...Armin's Remix was never officially release on 12")
Imagine the DJ's initiative to take the time, burn that damn CD and use it on a set in front of 15,000 Aussie Ravers....now that's when I'll close my eyes and look for that meaning, that certain feel that I never knew could be in existence....
Tiesto, Armin, Ferry Corsten...no doubt the most favoured trance masters on this forum have did it, not only because of the excellent choons they have brought upon us, but due to their enthusiastism in pushing this genre to it's max...
I'll always reminisce on the fact that from 1997-now, I've been searching for each and every vinyl that I made sure is the top-notch sounding tune for any trance experience. If you ask me, it takes a real master to be able to mix trance in a seamless fashion...I am more able to mix progressive and house than trancy-breaks and goa trance...the unexpected breakdowns just keep me so damn lost that I lose count all the damn time...
Anyways, Armin van Buuren's Rising Star Remix of Airscape's L'Esperanza does it for me...every single time....as I leave you guys with a blissful smile as I take a deep long breath..
Cheers :) |

thats my point, it was 7-8 yrs ago, dj heaven was uplifting before 00, progressive in 01, useless 02 (she was playing kylie minogue!!!)
Although there are still bits and pieces of uplifting in perth its not enough.
as you mentioned, mixing progressive, house, d n'b, etc is heaps easier than trance, thats why most of my djing friends dont spin it.
now even hip-hop is making an appearance at raves! when i graduate in a couple of yrs im moving to an uplifting country. |
