| Original was class, all lange did was cheezify a perfectly good tune by botching vocals on top to make a bit of money by getting it into the chart. Typical Lange strategy: vocals = charts = money. Not really doing the integrity of the scene much good. But hey, thats just my opinion! |

lange did not add the vox! Agnelli and nelson were the ones who 'sold out'; they added the vopx for the radio release, cos then they knew they would get the incresed airplay. Lange always do vocal mixes so it was hardly as if they were gonna drop the vocals was it?!
I like the lange one anyway, i think it's a good example of classic, pre-millenium trance! |

OK the mix I heard was with vocals and I have confirmed it is the Lange mix. I in fact like it quite a bit. I don't think adding vocals is really selling out...I think music with vocals is probably not your thing but...in all honesty, some people do like vocals in their music...thats not to say its cheeze or whatever...its place is probably not at a rave...but some people enjoy going to a club hearing club music such as euro dance etc. or trance with vocals or house w/ vocals...there is a place for it...
Anyways...heard the Fleming mix finally...like it but not as much as the Lange mix. The point was made earlier about lack of energy in the Fleming mix...I agree...the Lange versio has more energy...hard to compare because the one has vocals the other doesn't but I would still say the Lange one has nicer buildups and is much more exciting. |

| When people say adding vocals makes a song cheezy, are they referring to southern sun, anything by jan johnston, silence, etc. etc.? |

| I certainly am, although I cannot speak for everyone else. As they probably have different opinions to those that I have. |

yeah that'sa good point about silence etc. but i think the problem is that when they take a perfectly good instrumental tune and put cheesy vox on it later. the best example being fragma - miracle.
However silence and southern sun, the tune was written with the vocals in mind. It's when they just slap random pointless vocals on so the girls have something to sing along to in the clubs- that's what really pisses me off. |

this just expose more people to tracks.
take for example rapture... if the vocals weren't exist than no one would have liked it, now u can see anyone on the street that is able to sing it |
