Download and install this program that resets teh admin password on the machine, then go in as an admin and make yourself an admin. Done and done.

No. Only the rejected stock gets exported.

over here they got into trouble for putting mediocre stuff in & advertising it as better stuff (processors, ram, gfx etc) and their adverts are really really annoying, making them sound special when there's plenty of local retailers who can put together better machines

Not if the machine is a member of a domain and the user is set as a 'user' in the active directory!

He's going to have to suck the administrators cock.

Their support and RMA proceedures mean they win.

Their machines are reliable, but should the worst happen their next day on site support service is there.

The reason they are so successful is because they are running hteir business right, and the reason they have so many customers is because they have such a good reputation.

It's normal for people to slate big players (Microsoft/Dell/HP etc) because it's so easy to pick small faults, but when you compare them to the positive things you find that they far outweigh the faults.

I'd say that that was an exception rather than a rule. My story is that I worked for a 1000 strong company, and once we'd switched to Dell, we had so much less downtime we were able to half our hardware support personel.

That was with Optiplex GX620s just over a year ago. We locked these machines down, on a secure domain, and all the machines are still running as fast as the day we installed them.

You gotta use and admninister them right. Ours still run as fast as greased weasels up a drainpipe!

PS I'm no Dell fanboy - I just know a decent PC company when i see one. For what it's worth I use a shuttle chassis (XPC) at home with my choice of components - but thats just cos i like the feeling of 'I created this myself'.
