| Sometimes I get these from people in AG groups I'm on. I just delete them, are they causing any problems even if I don't open them. They really start to piss me off after awhile.:whip: |

| What do you mean? :conf: AG uses mp3 format. plz clarify |

| Well i am sure they can just change the name, or make it a wrapster file. But anyway of they want you to get a virus, they can just merge it with the mp3, without you even knowing :) But i dont join groups :) |

i also get them sometimes...but i wouldn't worry....if they get downloaded....just delete them....
Also, it's always good to have virus protection just incase.. |

Sorry, i dont use protection......computer protection
What the heck is wrapter thing? I DLed 'dj corfigneman and Dj dazzle - maxim CD wrapster format' what does the wrapster mean? |

It is basically like a zip file. Wrapster means that progs and albums can be put on ag, adn when you download them, just use wrapster to unwrap them :)
Search for wrapster :) |

i may sound stupid, but i read pages of discussion about this issue, and people basically disassembled the mp3 format by 1's and 0's to prove that there is no way in heaven to attach an executable virus to an mp3 that will infect your pc... on the other hand, if you could attach viruses to mp3s, don't you think people would have had done it already numerous times? |

No you are right i forgot about that. But i know you can attach trojans, all that kinda stuff, worms, etc etc to pritty much any file. I can get stuff that can burrow through and fire wall in about a minute. Handy knowing a network engineer
But i just run a virus check every so foten. But i have to say luckily i have had no probs :) |

| No, you can't attach a worm or a trojan to an mp3. |

u can, cept the mp3 and the virus/trojan/worm will be corrupt aka fcked
so theres no real point
even if they did attach a virus to an mp3, the mp3 wont play and the user would have suspictions... |

Yeah, in order to run it would have to be executed first. Winamp doesn't "execute" an mp3, it just reads it... so it can't do any harm. Unless you rename your .mp3 to .exe or something? |
