What's up with International Dj's droping the same track twice? (pg. 3)

I don't necessarily think it's amateur, it's not like they forgot they played the track earlier on. They are obviously trying to create a desired effect by doing so, whether or not it's cheap is another story.
Although Guetta's programming has been less than brilliant, I wouldn't classify him as "amateur"... |

Twas tribe and agreed a billion percent...... as long the dj can read the crowd well and play with their emotions just right with no overkill.

Sorry just thinking about this some more and how epic that would be to hear "Hung Up" done in that manner when the song just came out and it was so fresh/ hot etc.
And then imagining years down the road hearing that song and remembering how Morales did that to you over a 9 hour set. FACK.
IMO that is DJ'ing. |

So true. Depending on the track and how it's done, as a reprise like you said, for sure. Or a remix, PvD does it occasionally. If it were me I might drop a remix but not the same tune unless it fit with the atmosphere/occasion. |

Morales did that at Sonic Grand Opening with "He Is". He played it 4 times, and teased it throughout the night. I usually don't like when DJs do this, but when Morales did it, it was awesome. |

I've only ever heard (that I remember) a couple of international DJs "double dropping" tracks....
Lawler at Sundance played his remix of Sexy Back twice (which was only 2 days old at the time) once at the start of his set and once at the end...it went off both times...
Sander played This is not Miami twice at TIL a few months ago...first one was some remix of it (did it for the Z103 crowd that was still there around 1am) then at the end he played the THIS IS LONDON remix....went off somehow...just because I guess.
If dont right I think its cool but there is definately NO REASON to play the same track more than 2wice in a set! wtf??
