Which magazine should i subscribe to?

| I think it would actually be better to save your money and not subscribe to any mag since you can find all the same info (and more!) online. I've read a few mags and a lot of the time the articles feel like paid advertisements with all the unnecessary praise... |

| If you're really set on it, I would go for CM, but make sure you buy a few issues of each and decide which one you like best, before you subscribe. |

Magazines are for entertainment value, not educational value.
90% of the mag will be reviews or advertisement of products. Maybe 5% of the amg will be tutorials, but theyre usually totally useless / unrelated to anything you want to do.
Thats my experience anyway.
The internet is a much better resource (theres nothing you wont find) |

| dont subscribe to one. but every month look through them and if you see something useful buy it. i do this and have found some great issues of computer music on mastering and eqing. |

BS. Just as biased as any other trade rag. Sorry. I read completely "foaming at the mouth" reviews for some of the most rubbish products out there. Like Behringer crap getting high marks. Puhhhh leez. Oh, and infamous Tascam 1812FW mixer/fw interface being praised immediately after its release - when 90% of people who bought that crap could not get it to work!!!

SOS is not for a beginner producer - contains virtually zero production advise.
Computer Music is the best - every month they have some kind of tutorial, they almost always include some type of software CD with samples, free plug ins, and have some of the best step-by-step lessons. Worth every penny, even considering I'm paying $15 in US.
Next one on my list would be Future Music (UK) edition.

Behringer gets good marks most of the time, based on what they deliver for the price. Behringer provides good products for the starting producer and even advanced ones if you're on a tight budget. We all know behringer products don't last as long as soundcraft or mackie stuff but hey.. it's all relative to the price they sell it.
No need BS-ing me like I said, it's my personal opinion. And the monthly advice for the sequencers cubase notes, logic notes, workshops etc. are not production advice.. right. I found the articles and the forum very helpful and at least they have a decent website (unlike computer music). It provides information for both the beginner and the advanced producer. |

I was hoping for tutorials, software reviews, and some free stuff. Not interested in production hardware, because I don't have the money. That's why SOS is nothing for me.
I turned to you guys because I can't check out any other mag except CM.
I like what I've seen so far, just wanted to make sure if this is the best I can get. It costs cca. 150€ for a year, not that much IMO. Otherwise I would spend the money for candy or fast food.

You've obv never read Roger Nichols' column in the back of EQ mag.
If you're looking for 'pro' reading... I'd say go for MIX MAGAZINE. |
