I'd so be there if Daft Punk were playing. RATM is almost a good enough reason on their own, I love them so much.
Tiesto and PVD being there are sort of minuses rather than plusses in my book. PVD less so than Tiesto, but I don't particularly like their music or their crowds. Hawtin, well, I need to see him sometime but I'd rather do it in a more typically Techno atmosphere. And there are others that I'd like to see, but the lineup overall is something that puts me on edge about whether it's worth it or not. That's a lot of money, time, and effort for a poor (literally) car-less college student like me.
Might have to wait until next year, when I'll hopefully have more money and maybe a car. Or at least a tent. |
Good exposure though, most people have to go to an electronic music event to see them. So now the regular "rock" crowd can see PvD and Tiesto in a non-club setting. |

Rukes: True. Although if people come over to electronic music, as I have ranted about before, because of Tiesto or PVD: they're very often (not always, just more often than not) people who don't really understand the scene, have a very narrow view of electronic music, and have a negative effect on the atmosphere when they go out to a club to see Danny Howells because they heard he's good and then bitch about him not being the same as Tiesto. Sometimes they do get hooked in the right way, and for those of them that do I'm glad they get the exposure. But I'm always VERY wary about the scene becoming more mainstream because I don't want it to get diluted or turn into the same thing that every other scene in America is slowly assimilating into.
mobius: I hope you're in no way disappointed that IM will be at coachella. though it is telling when goa/psy is becoming popular enough to be at a rock festival. |

| heck no, it'll be my third time seeing them! I never imagined they would be on stage at coachella however, it doesn't seem like a place I'd envision them at for some reason |

So wait, you gotta bring your own food?! They wont sell anything there??
! I'd so book a hotel but that would be costly considering I want the 3 day pass...
Tough decisions... |

From what last years website said, there is a 24-hour general store at the campground with food/necessities as well as vendors that stay open as late as 3am. So you don't have to bring your own food but certainly cheaper. :D
Apparently, they don't allow alcohol to be brought into the campgrounds either but I highly doubt that's an obstacle for the professional partygoer. |

no muse either. and although they're not brit (canadian), i would've loved to have seen metric, who are one of the most underated bands out there for me. so many positives though. it's got to be THE best line up since i've been attending coachella. |
