@Welcome2Trance: get an ASIO4ALL driver and install it... that's all you need. no soundcard necessary. make sure you select the driver after you've installed it.

in 6 this freezing feature works much better, though...

actually in 6 you can even flatten a midi track to audio with a few clicks..."frozen" tracks can be pasted and copied etc...

You took the words out of my fingers! :tongue2

The FAQ answers your question with a reference to this thread about resource issues - please read it.

Yes, I've read the faq with regard to resources, I was just wondering if someone had worked out a better way of conserving resources than freezing:rolleyes: I just find the way live works with freezing tracks to be completely unworkable, the main point I'm have resource issues at is arranging and mixing. Once you freeze, you can't cut or paste time at all, and you cant move the frozen track at all. You can't even eq your track to get it to sit right! It's really poor workflow if you ask me. It would almost be more efficient to just bounce out then reimport!:whip:

duo t2300e laptop 40gig hard drive 2048 of ram flp if only it supported dual core or if anyone knows a program that forces dualcore support would get some major props.. dont really run into many latency problems just the fact that its a laptop with a built in soundcard should probly get a better one but meh waiting on my ati chipset currently maybe once i get that in and figure out how big of a motha en hole itll burn ill get a firewire one or maybe a pc express? if i can find such a thing

edit to that correction new native instruments vstis cause major hell dont know why but the plugins are just a en hog and really kill my even tho in my task manager i dont read more then 30% cpu usage but thats counting for 2 cores at 1.6ghz i suppose. however 2048 of ram is en nice i might add...
