| I need a way to input and output multiple tracks on a laptop. Doesn't need preamps but good ADCs and DACs are good to have. |

| That looks nice but a few too many channels for my needs. I only need like 4 ins and its got to have a coax or optical out to connect to my headphone amp. I was thinking something along the lines of the Tascam US-144 but this only does 2 track recording and I will need 4. Everything else about it I like except maybe the fact it uses USB. |

Presonus Firebox
Don't get anything from M-Audio, I've had bad experiences. |

+1 for the Presonus Firebox,
I used to have on but sold it because I didnt think I would need it.
I now have a Lexicon Omega and it seems like it has a lot of noise.
Its also USB that can get tricky. Lexicon may make some good reverb but for audio interfaces give them some more time. |

| I've heard that the Presonus Firebox can have rather bad preamps which sound horrible with powered monitors. Have you guys had any problems? |

| I don't know about the Firebox, it's kinda pricey. But I've been looking at THIS and thinking it might be what Im looking for. |
