Nah, I don't think it is that horrible. Although I do not really listen to regular radio that much.

Hahaha, I didn't say you were bashing what I said. I was just trying to get you to see things from a different perspective. ;)

I think that EDM artists are VERY underexposed, as compared to someone like Britney Spears (who IMO, doesn't really deserve any recognition).
So when they actually get their tracks played on the radio, it's a pretty big deal.

lol i agree with you, it must be really rewarding for them to hear their music played on radio stations across the world, and on that angle i totally support it.
but one of the "negative outcomes" which ive noticed so much is what i was arguing for, and thaaaaaaas it folks:D

first off, dont take what i said in such offence, when someone states their opinion, respect it.
secondly i dont know if youve never noticed but how many times through the years do you see sick clubs getting all these teeny boppers who listen to rap and one min and then all of a sudden are crazy house heads ONLY because put ur hands up for detroit for ex was played on the radio. THAT is what im saying, we dont NEED new people in the scene, im extremely satisfied with the people at guvy for ex. im talking about people who all of a sudden love it cuz z103 plays it.
andddd clearly DUDE i have my own opinion, i also stated that i know maaany other people who have noticed a few of the same things i have as well.

i respect what you have to say im just stating my opinion
and that opinion is from someone who absolutely loves the MUSIC, cuz its all about the music

I never took offence. It seems like you are getting sensitive about it. I was just questioning your opinion. You seem like you are not looking at this in a different perspective.

So, are you saying if I happen to be at a top40 club and I hear a bootyilicous hip-hap track, which I happen to like. I am not allowed to enjoy myself? because I would look like a n00b trying to enjoy rap musack?

Everyone starts with liking EDM music somewhere, it doesn't matter if they heard it on the radio. It's better! It encourages them to listen to other types of music.

You never mentioned which artist was not getting any recognistion. The more EDM is played, the more willing radio stations are to play diverse tracks and probably play that obscure artist's music.

I'm glad you are satisfied with the people at the guv.
I'll leave it at that, because I'm not trying to flame you.

The problem is that radio stations latch on to a few hits and play them incessantly until they lose their appeal.

I agree with you on this one Sarah. I don't mind if EDM songs are played on the radio, in fact I enjoy it. But it's when they play the same songs over and over and over and over again like they do with all the other songs on the radio, THAT is when I get annoyed.

if you read above i just said how i do support it when looked at from another angle, its a little hard to explain what i mean without writing too much, i never said you couldnt like other genres of music, i love alot of different types. im saying through myyyyy experience, many many many times ive seen like people who like rap lets say, they get into the whole hip hop culture, then house music becomes "cool" because theyve heard it on mainstream radio, and they get into the whole club lifestyle or w.e....its like they just treat it as a fad and get over it lol
ive just seen this happen a few times.
anyway haha this has just gotten a tad pointless lol
i do see where your coming from no worries lol

Just curious: when did you first hear an EDM track? How did you get into this scene, and what do you like so much about it? :)

i grew up to like "euro beats" my parents always listened to it lol, like all that old school stuff.
and then when i was like 13/14 my older friends introduced me to it, i looked at it like a step up from all the euro and what not.
in grade 9 being like 13 i remember a few of my first tracks were like ferrys punk, 4 strings take me away, Perpetuous Dreamer sounds of goodbye:D
i guess just from growing up to euro and it stringing into trance as i got older it just has sentimental meaning to me.
the music just gets to me, the beats the lyrics, everything about it
really uplifting. i guess alot of the same reasons why many people love it.:)
