M Audio or E-Mu?

| I'm getting ready to buy a new audio/midi interface. I've narrowed down my choices to either the M Audio Firewire Audiophile 2496 and the E-Mu 0404 USB. If anybody has experience with these please let me know what you think of them. Thanks. |

| I don't think I'd bother with the Emu cards unless you're getting the 1212 or 1616. Plus, Firewire is going to give you better performance for audio than USB. Between those two choices I'd pick the M-Audio. Unfortunately they both have crap drivers but not much you can do about that without moving to a higher price range. |

| yeah, price is my biggest issue and i have been leaning toward the m audio. thanks for the help. |
