bit retro I know!

but has anyone got a soundfont similar, or has ever been able to make a usable patch with v station or vanguard?

I'd be extremely grateful for the use of it.

Thanks Mike

given the time, it's most probably the roland choir. Almost every choir patch in dance tracks came out of the jv 1080 back then. It used to be in my mc 505 but i sold it cause it sucks.

Agreed. The Roland JV-1080 has some great choir patches. If you get the Sessions Expansion card, preset 023 Dream Choir has been used in loads of tracks. It's personally my favorite choir out of all the hardware synths I have.
