| just rode on jetblue 2 weeks ago for a 1.5hr flight. was nice to have the tv in there even though it was a short flight. it was a nice way to pass the time. they also have xm radio on there too. honestly the comparison between jetblue and southwest is pretty much the same when it comes to comfort. it also depends on the planes they are using. the one i was on was an Airbus A320. it was not that roomy but it also has 2x the exits of the boeing equivalent. i personally didnt find it any better overall as compared to southwest. |

soooo myra, i know you asked about this a while back.
tonight was my first jetblue experience, and even though it sucked, i'm not really mad about it. we got socked by a huge storm here in nyc starting monday night/tuesday morning. jet blue didn't seem prepared for everything. wednesday they canceled flights, and news sources made light of passengers being stuck on runways here at jfk and laguardia airports for up to 8 hours. my gf and i were supposed to fly out at 855p to oakland from jfk. needless to say that didn't happen. it was tough to find any staff people in the terminal. no announcements were made until 2 hours after we arrived at the terminal. jetblue announced that they would cease their operations for the night (at around 10p). it would be impossible to fly out over the next few days they added. standby, forget it. they basically had to go through the logjam of the past few days. to make it up to people, they would refund the costs AND give everyone who was supposed to fly out the past few days free round trip airfare to anywhere (in the continental US i imagine). guess i'll be taking advantage of this.
c0r summary: jetblue couldn't handle nyc weather the last 2 days (no other airline shut down operations). i got my money back and free round trip airfare in the US.'
*edit* just tracked my scheduled flight. it did take off, but there was probably no way we'd be on it because out of five flights to OAK today, two were cancelled. jetblue probably put everyone on our flight :( |

i've seriously gotten the cheapest flight through them - regardless of airlines.

that sounds expensive, if only slighly. my friends paid about that or less to go from denver to stockholm, which is a much more difficult/expensive endeavor. check the airline websites first, then a travel agent, then orbitz or whatever.
myra, check the weather.
jet blue is a cheap and easy airline. if everything goes fine, itll be great. but since you are hopping chi to nyc it should be cheaper or simpler otherwise.
my gf and i just got den to nyc tix fri-fri both of us for 500 total, and we dont have to go newark. chicago should be much easier

actually, that's cheap. your friends must have gotten lucky like i did. if you go to any airlines website directly [i.e. www.aa.com or www.delta.com], the prices are like 90% of time more epxensive than on orbitz/travelocity/expedia. i never buy direct, soley for that reason.
example, right now:\
WWW.AA.COM
flying from chicago o'hare to dallas fortworth...
1338.00 USD
+ 20.80 USD taxes
1358.80 USD
Total Price
1358.80 USD
ON WWW.ORBITZ.COM ...
$588 + $27 taxes & fees = $615 per person
i mean, honestly?
+edit+
I dunno what the deal is, but honestly, where ever you fly....RESEARCH. spend at least 1hr checking EVERYWHERE before you buy. |

didnt you say to munich tho? not dallas?
its often just as expensive to travel within the US as outside.
plus you cant just pick the next flight, you have to choose in advance

that was for 2 days from now. usually, the further away you plan your travel, the cheaper it is.
example:
flying from chicago o'hare to munich, on june 6 - june 19
1191.00 USD
+ tax 135.70 USD
1326.70 USD
Total Price
1326.70 USD
on WWW.ORBITZ.COM ...
900 + $266 taxes & fees = $1,166 per person
granted, only $200 cheaper....still.... |
