Real time export and monitoring in cubase 4

Hi,
just wanted to post it here, might be something you've been troubled with. When exporting in real time I always want monitoring so you can check if everything goes right (like with the TI this is not always the case) or you can do some real-time automation. In cubase 3, it was automatically routed to the outputs, not any more in cubase 4. To get rid of this problem you have to enable the control room (> vst connections F4 > studio) and make a monitor output with the desired output. If you want the same output as your default output you'll have to mute the control room channel when not exporting so keep a shortcut for the control room mixer. Now when you export, you'll notice a control for the monitor level.

Thought it could be useful for anybody facing the same problem. If there's a shorter way to solve this, let me know :toothless

Thanks for the tip. I'm still on "old school" Cubase SX 3 but I always use realtime record due to the Poco and Emu cards, so that may come in useful someday.
